Moving to
London

Midlands to London is one of the most well-travelled long-distance removal routes in England — and for good reason. Property prices have pushed thousands of Londoners northwards over the past decade, and professional demand pulls plenty of Midlands residents south. We do both directions regularly.

For London deliveries, the planning starts long before the removal day. ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) coverage across Greater London means we always check our vehicles are compliant — our fleet meets the required emission standards. Congestion Charge applies in the central zone (CC hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm, and weekends 12pm to 6pm) — we factor this in or plan around it depending on your delivery address.

Parking in London is where the real planning happens. Inner London residential deliveries often have Controlled Parking Zones that prohibit loading during certain hours. We apply for temporary loading dispensations from the relevant London Borough Council in advance — this is routine for us but requires several days' notice, so we ask customers to book London moves at least two weeks ahead where possible.

Outer London — Bromley, Croydon, Enfield, Barnet, Richmond, Sutton — is considerably more manageable. Good road widths, CPZ schemes that are less aggressive than Zone 2 postcodes, and more flexible parking.

For the return journey, we're often able to bring back a load from London if we have a customer moving from London to the Midlands around the same time. This keeps costs lower for both customers — it's worth asking when you enquire.
